Phil Warren - Northwestern Mutual

Phil Warren was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Much like anyone who grows up in North Idaho, he spent almost all of his time outdoors. Summer was all about riding motorcycles, fishing, wake boarding, and camping. While winter was spent up on the mountains skiing and snowboarding. When he was not out exploring, Phil spent a lot of time working on his family owned steel fabrication business, where he learned the trade of welding. He continued working in the family steel business for 2 years after graduating from Coeur d’Alene High School in 2007. After a change of heart, he went on to attend The University of Idaho where he graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting in 2013.

Phil began his journey with Northwestern Mutual in the spring of 2011 as an Intern Financial Representative. After graduation and completing 2 years of the internship, Phil was offered the opportunity for a full-time position at the office in Coeur d’Alene. In March of 2015, Phil took on an additional role as College Unit Director. This role gave him the opportunity to mentor, lead and develop the interns. Phil was thankful to get this opportunity because he saw it as a way to give back for all the great mentorship he received.

Even though his career has been a life changing experience, Phil never strayed far from his roots. The opportunity to return to his hometown has allowed him to expand his outdoor interests to wake surfing, golfing and running with his golden retriever, Koby.
