My name is Jason, and our mission at Photography by JR is to make hiring a photographer AFFORDABLE for EVERYONE!

I can do this because photography is my passion, not my profession. It is not my sole source of income. It has never paid my mortgage nor has it afforded me a new luxury car. I only charge clients what is necessary to cover my expenses, along with a little extra to invest in new equipment or maybe to take the family out to dinner.

There are other talented photographers locally there that have been around for decades and do some amazing work. You will most certainly get your money's worth out of a $1,000 portrait session with them, but not everyone needs a $1,000 portrait.

Some people only need a photo for their family Christmas card. Others are graduating from SFA and want to capture the culmination of their college achievements with a picture of them with "Surfin' Steve." That is where we come in. We aim to bridge the gap between a costly, professional studio session, and that sad, modern thing called "the selfie."
