Piney Baptist Church

Piney Baptist Church began in a one room school house, located near the present church. The Piney Community (then known as Flat Woods) was a wicked place. The junction of Mtn.Pine road and Highway 270 hosted a bootlegging establishment and dance hall. Mrs. Irrie Tucker and Rev. D.R. Whitley began conducting a Sunday School class in the school house. In 1938, five members of the Crystal Hill Missionary Baptist Churched joined Mrs. Tucker and Rev. Whitley.

In 1940 the members decided to build a church near the school house. Today, over 60 years later, Piney Baptist Church continues to grow and thrive. We are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Arkansas Central Baptist Association. Piney Baptist is a New Testament church devoted to the word of God, and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Our current pastor is Bro. Larry Catcher. He, along with the entire community of believers at Piney Baptist welcome you to worship with us and, if the Lord leads you, to join our congregation!
