Outside the city of Superior, Pioneer Parish Churches are the only reformed congregations in Douglas County, and in some places the only Protestant Churches of any kind. As such, there are members with many different backgrounds, all sharing the same basic belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Together with most other Christians, we affirm the words of the Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds, and in many other ways we are very much like most Christian Fellowships.
Presbyterian Pioneer Parish is a cooperative effort of five congregations covering an area of approximately 3000 square miles of Northwest Wisconsin. The parish is served by one pastor, a youth director, and lay preachers. Its size and organization make it unique in our denomination.
We keep up-to-date through a monthly newsletter, The Pioneer, which includes news from and for all of our congregations: Brule Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church-Solon Springs, First Presbyterian Church- Lake Nebagamon, First Presbyterian Church-Gordon, and Country Peace Presbyterian Church- South Range, WI.
