Poppy's Famous Fudge

To say the beginning was humble is an understatement. Poppy's Famous Fudge is based not only on tradition but a tribute to my late grandfather "Poppy". Poppy was born in Gasburg, Indiana in 1921, to a farmer. He was raised with the philosophy of hard work, respect, and love for family and country. He also served in WWII in the Army Air Corps. Over the years he had several hobbies, woodworking, gardening and making fudge.

Poppy built a reputation with his tomatoes in the summer and his mouth watering fudge he delivered during the holiday season. If you knew Poppy you had experienced his fudge. From the bank tellers to the neighborhood kid that cleaned the snow from his drive, was rewarded with a tin of fudge. I always looked forward to the Family Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday as Poppy always had a big tin of fudge for us. In 2013 Poppy passed away at the age of 92.

Today I make fudge using the same recipe Poppy used, it is not made in big fancy machines, but handmade in small batches. This guarantees consistency and freshness. No corners are cut; we use nothing but premium ingredients and real butter. Just like Poppy did.
