A first generation family fruit farm located in the pristine Hudson River Valley region of New York
Founded in 1980 by brothers Anthony and Joseph Porpiglia, the once 26-acre farm has now expanded to encompass 6 different locations and 550 acres in and around Marlboro, in Ulster County, New York.
Today, Porpiglia Farms is operated by owners, Anthony and Joseph, along with their sons, Joseph III, Anthony Jr., Jesse and Domenic Porpiglia.
The family uses advanced cultural practices and the latest growing techniques as well as state-of-the-art packing and storage technologies to produce the highest quality fruit. Porpiglia Farms regularly plants the newest varieties of apples, providing consumer favorites such as Honeycrisps, Empires, Galas, Fujis and more. Porpiglia Farms invests heavily in their operation and in 2014 upgraded its packing and storage facilities with the most cutting edge packing line on the market. The new equipment allows the farm to provide greater varieties in packaging and allows more fruit to reach global consumers faster and fresher year round.
Porpiglia Farms has a diversified workforce currently employing more than 100 pickers, packers, equipment drivers and administrative staff, some of whom have been with the family for over 20 years. The facilities are audited by state, federal and independent auditors and certified by numerous food safety schemes such as the British Retail Consortium under the Global Standard for Food Safety.
