What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula’s role is to serve and nurture a woman after the birth of her baby. She offers non-judgmental support and encouragement to new mothers. Postpartum is a unique and special time in the life of the new family. A postpartum doula can help make this time restful and healing. A postpartum doula understands the challenges and stresses of caring for a new baby and will help make this transition easier for the whole family.

What a Postpartum Doula does not do:
• Medical tasks or diagnoses are not in the Scope of Practice of a Doula. Instead, I will provide information about resources and how to access the best information and support for parents
• I will not drive you or your family in MY car.
• I will not judge you or your informed decisions.
• I will not take over the total care of your baby, but will be there to allow you to rest or pamper yourself with a nap or shower.
This is your baby. My job is to provide you with the knowledge, support and confidence needed to quickly become independent, rested and well prepared parents.
