Potomac Pastries

Potomac Pastries, LLC is a family owned bakery located in Centerville, VA. What started out as a small idea between daughter and father, has turned into a wide spread family endeavor.
From the beginning - Kelly, our owner and head baker, initially attended Ferrum College in southern Virginia, graduating in 2010 with a double major in Finance and Russian Language. Once graduating, she decided to pursue what really made her happy - baking. December 2011 she graduated first in her class from the Pastry Arts Program of L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD.
A six month externship at The Comus Inn in Comus, MD turned into a full time job as the Inn's sole Pastry Cook. Over a year later Kelly decided it was time to expand her experience to a large production industry and accepted a job offer as a Pastry Cook at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. This is where she first met Catherine, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, and fellow Pastry Cook and dessert/bread enthusiast.
Both Kelly and Catherine gained extensive knowledge and skills, finding their friendship and similar work ethic to be a successful combination. After some time, Kelly was promoted to Pastry Supervisor, and just months later she pitched an idea for a small business retail shop to her father. Shortly after leaving Lansdowne Resort, Kelly approached Catherine about joining her small business venture as Bread Master of Potomac Pastries, which she happily accepted.
January 2014 Potomac Pastries, LLC was officially formed between Kelly and her Family, and the process of opening a family owned retail bakery began. Finally finding the perfect location, Centreville, VA became the new home of Potomac Pastries in 2015.
Not only does Potomac Pastries specialize in wedding cakes, they also specialize in customized and/or personalized specialty and celebration cakes, artisan breads, morning pastries, and desserts. Potomac Pastries' employees strives to accommodate all parties, so if there is a specific item or inquiry, please consult our staff in person.
