Potter Valley Youth and Community Center

Potter Valley Youth and Community Center (PVYCC) , a non-profit established in 1995, is located in Potter Valley, California and serves the greater Potter Valley area. Potter Valley is located in the unincorporated area of Mendocino County and has no local county agencies/satellites to provide health and human services for children and families. In 2010, some of the most pressing issues identified for this inland area were: alcohol and other drug services, access to medical services, and child abuse prevention. Today the Center also identifies the need for services to teens as well ESL classes.

This Family Resource Center was created by PVYCC in 2008 with a Healthy Start grant aimed at assisting families whose children attended Potter Valley schools. It operates on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, providing a variety of family strengthening services in a facility rented from the school district. The primary target populations for the Center are children, youth and families but the Center does intend to serve all in their small community.
