The story of the bible is the story of man’s redemption through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. God in His Omniscience, knew He would create man, man would fall, and would be redeemed by Christ going to the Cross; this was all done before the Universe was created; this means the Cross of Christ is the Foundation Doctrine of all Doctrine (1Peter 1:18-20).

In the book of Genesis Chapter 1: 26-27, God had a wonderful plan for the man. God said, let us make man in our image and after our likeness which actually refers to true righteousness and holiness (Eph. 4:24).

Everything God made was very good. Adam had the greatest teacher of all. The Lord God instructed and commanded Adam, of every tree of the Garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat of it: for the day that you eat thereof you shall die (Gen. 2: 16-17).

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not the cause of Adam’s fall; it was a failure to heed and obey the Word of God, which is the cause of every single failure. Adam disobeyed God, which caused spiritual death, which is separation from God. Spiritual death ultimately brought on physical death, and has in fact filled the world with death, all because of the fall. So we can see that the problem is sin, hence the sin nature. This is why all the things that we see happening all over the world is caused by this original sin.

Now, the answer to this problem, and the only answer and solution to sin’s problem is Jesus Christ and Him crucified, which is the cross (1 Cor. 2:2). For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3: 16-17).

That’s why our faith must be in Jesus Christ and what He did for us at the cross. He paid a debt He did not owe and we owed a debt we could not pay. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom. 6:23).
