More about Prayer Palace International Church

BACKGROUND
Luke 4:14-19 declares the mission of Christ when He was physically in the world as well as our mission today. We are joined to God through our faith in the one who God sent to us, Jesus the Christ. Through our Faith we have relationship (salvation) with God. We are the children of God through Christ! Christ's mission was: “…to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed and to announce that the time has come when the Lord will save His people (NIV emphasis mine).”

Jesus is the anointed one of God and through our faith in Jesus; we also are anointed to carry out the mission that Jesus started. We are anointed because we are the body of Christ in the world today. So our mission is the same as was Christ’s mission. Let’s be about the work that the Lord has left for us.

OUR MISSION
Our mission as a church is to introduce people to the reality of a wholistic relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. We endeavor to promote and encourage spiritual, mental, and physical growth through worship, teaching, prayer and preaching from a Biblical, Christ-Centered, Holy Spirit Empowered perspective. We are a community of believers who are dedicated to the Empowerment of people so that we can make a positive difference in the our city, state, country and the entire world. This is not traditional church, this is Empowering Church!
OUR PURPOSE

Purpose #1: To Make Disciples of all God's People
Purpose #2: To Empower God's people for Christian Service and Living
Purpose #3: Provide a Dynamic Worship Experience
Purpose #4: Provide a Wholistic Loving Multi-Cultural Environment

We are a church that embraces the whole Bible as truth. We understand that the Word of God was written in a particular context (situation in life) that is sometimes different than ours. We believe that through the study of the Bible that the Spirit of God will lead us into all truth for living among one another and in the will of God. We embrace that we are the creation of God, more unique in our makeup than all other creatures, because we have the freedom to choose (think, process ideas, and choose an action). Thus, we choose God’s will for our lives. Why do we do this? Because God’s way is the best way. We choose God’s Word over everything else.

We are always open to what the Spirit has to say or is leading us toward. We, like others who have come before us, if we are going to reach the promised land or the kingdom of God, then, we have to follow the Word and Will of God. Our ways lead to temporary or short-term fulfillment, but walking in the way God would have us go will sometimes call for sacrifice (in the short-term), but ultimately lead to the joy we all seek.

our beliefs

The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings and the revelation of God’s will for those who have an ear to hear, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

God – We believe that there is only one true and living God existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each is a distinct Being, but all of one essence and all having the same nature perfection and attributes and each is worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence and obedience.

Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is the true manifestation of God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final complete sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, God and co-existent with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is the chief agent in the regeneration of the soul, the chief convictor of sin and the chief comforter who empowers the believer for Godly living. Simultaneous with regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ, permanently indwells us and seals us in salvation for all eternity. The Holy Spirit is the giver of spiritual gifts to the believer.

The Scriptures – The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is inerrant in the original writings. The Bible being the revealed Word of God is the ground and foundation from which all claims for truth shall be sustained. The Word of God is alive and quick! Through God’s sovereign hand, the Scriptures have been preserved and are the supreme and the final authority for us as believers.

Man – Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through faith in Jesus Christ’s completed and perfect work and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation – The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provides the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. Only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. Salvation involves redemption, regeneration, sanctification and glorification.

The Return of Jesus Christ – The personal imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our one true hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

The Church – The true church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.

Future Events – There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

Baptism and Communion – Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth, in sacred and symbolic manner, the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. All true believers and only believers should share in it.
