Prepper Daves Military Surplus started at the end of 2013;

About a year after coming home from Afghanistan for the last time a friend approached me and said he had always wanted to open a military surplus store and that we should buy some ammo cans from Government Liquidations (which we did).

After we sold the ammo cans my friend had other interests he wanted to pursue so I decided to buy and sell some more things on my own. At first I would meet people at Sportsman Warehouse, Sams Club, or the Lemon Lot to buy and sell gear (while doing this I decided to use my garage to store everything and sell some items on eBay). This continued until my wife had enough and then I moved the entire operation to some storage units. It was at one of these storage units that someone remarked that it was like a mini CIF in there and so from then on we were "The Mini CIF”.

In October of 2015 we opened our first mini-retail location. Our hours were very limited since I still had a full-time job and could only buy and sell items in the evenings and on weekends. It was just my 13 year old and I until my dad started battling his third round of cancer and had to be in hospice care; so we closed the doors until the middle of January 2016 when he passed away. It was at this time that my friend wanted to come back and work at the store, so I hired a couple of part-time active duty soldiers since they had the same hours as us and then we were off.

Six months later, in June of 2016, we moved to our current location but this time with apx 2,000 sq. ft. of store space and more employees. Our hours have now expanded to 7 days a week from 10 am – 7 pm.

Now that the retail store is up and running, we will be refocusing on getting our online presence up and running.
