One cold day, Alicia found herself and her kids at the Chicago Public Library seeking a warm and kid-friendly space to spend the day. She looked around and wished they had a place to go that had more space, interesting design elements, and coffee! Right then she made up her mind to combine her love of interior design and her background in early childhood education to open her own business. That business is Present Place Chicago, where Alicia's used color, light, space, and texture to create an indoor play space to inspire and nurture children -- no commercial cartoon characters, no battery-powered toys, and nothing artificial. We're a place where kids can learn and grow through play while parents look on with a fresh cup of coffee or tea. We're a place where kids and parents alike can be present.
