More about Priscila Sousa

I'm running for mayor because I believe we need leadership that represents the community with focus on transparency and consistency. Our new city is in a state of transition and we need to be sure we are headed in the right direction. Framingham deserves a Mayor who will be a powerful advocate at regional, state and federal levels.

I take an incredible amount of pride in Framingham's economic development and ever-improving infrastructure, but the true value of this new city is its community. All of our innovation and progress would not be possible without Framingham's strong, diverse, enterprising population. It is time to tap into the city's most valuable resource and breathe new air into Framingham as we begin this exciting new chapter of our history.

My family has always instilled in me a deep understanding that nothing of value comes without hard work and sacrifice and I will work tirelessly to ensure that this new era is Framingham's best yet. I want us to be able to look back with pride at the legacy we made when this town became a city. It would be my honor to serve you and implement solutions to our community's most pressing issues.

My goal is complete community involvement across all nine of the new districts, especially those that are currently underrepresented in town hall. It is no small feat that the school system in Framingham has made leaps and bounds in ensuring a high student success rate across the board, especially evident in new immigrant families; and striving for the highest high school graduation rate possible. It is my mission to maintain this momentum because I truly believe education is the backbone of our community.

I'm running for mayor because I love Framingham and it's where I became and many others become Americans. With all the upcoming changes to what was once the "Biggest Town in America" I'd like to make sure that the good things we have always had don't get lost along the way. I'd also love to help steer this transition into a direction where there will be more transparent and equal representation for everyone, including the parts of town that have been neglected. Framingham is a new city rich in history in tradition with a young population and it will be an honor to provide the dynamic leadership that will guide us into our best days.
