Professions on Purpose

Professions On Purpose (PoP) serves those seeking or making meaningful and sometimes scary changes to—and through—their work.

Our community embraces every form of “entrepreneurship” from business and social to creative (artist, craftsman, novelist) idea (author, blogger, TED talker) and innovative (tinkerer, hacker, inventor).

At PoP, a job is WHAT we do, a career is HOW we advance and a profession is the WHY in our calling or mission.

A profession is more than what you are paid for—or educated/certified in. Indeed, the word ‘profession’ comes from the Latin professiō, meaning ‘declaration’ or ‘avowal’ made in response to a vocatiō—a"vocation" or "calling.” Thus true professionals seek meaning, not simply means.

Our events provide:

1) real stories of real people “who have been there, done that”: real examples and advice on the good, the bad, and the ugly of transitioning your career

2) networking opportunities to find inspiration and like-minded people with complementary skillsets
