Project: Find More Homes

According to DHS, the state of Arkansas has more than 4,000 children in state custody, and 600 of these children come out of Sebastian County. Our goal with this page is to bring awareness to this issue, and inform others about the foster care system. In Sebastian County only 185 beds are available, in 90 foster homes. This is an issue due to the large amount of foster children that come from Sebastian County.

The reasoning behind these children being removed from their families could be due to parent incarceration, substance abuse, and the big one is neglect. Another reason behind this large number of foster children in Sebastian County is that child abuse reporting is much higher.

These statistics are both shocking and upsetting, so our overall goal is to increase foster care beds in Sebastian County. That being said, anyone interested in becoming a foster parent please message us and check out all the information on our page.

Fostering for the state of Arkansas is a big decision. If you are not in a place to be able to foster full-time, then please consider respite care, emergency care, becoming a volunteer (transportation volunteers are desperately needed), or please consider partnering with other organizations we work with such as CASA.
