Promise Ranch Therapeutic Riding

Who We Are:

Promise Ranch Therapeutic Riding is a non-profit equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) organization located in Franktown, CO. We are a PATH International (Professional Association of Therpeutic Horsemanship) member center and an AHA (American Hippotherapy Association) facility member.

PRTR provides safe, high quality therapeutic horseback riding and hippotherapy services for individuals with disabilities. We serve all ages, and tailor each session to meet the unique goals of each individual.

Our clients participate in one of two programs:

• Therapeutic Riding - Therapeutic Riding is a recreational activity in which horseback riding and horsemanship skills are taught by PATH Intl. certified instructors using traditional and adaptive methods. Although this type of riding is considered recreational, lessons are tailored to meet the
specific physical, cognitive, and/or behavioral goals of each individual rider.

• Hippotherapy - Hippotherapy is a treatment strategy used by certified and licensed occupational, physical, and speech therapists. The movement of the horse is the main treatment tool, and is purposefully manipulated by the therapist to achieve functional goals.
