PSL Counseling LLC sara alvarez

PSL Counselling LLC is owned and operated by Sara Alvarez, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL license number MH8461).

Sara completed her Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health in 2000 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and an Associates Degree in Clinical Psychology.
She worked for several years as a therapist for youth in the juvenile justice system and for children in a crisis unit (children who were suicidal, bipolar, etc.) where she learned the importance of treating the individual as part of a family.

She then began utilizing family and group therapy in addition to individual therapy with a focus on methods such as goal oriented behavior and cognitive restructuring.
She originally pursued a career in psychology to better understand why we as humans behave in certain ways and to help people change the way they see life.

The message she hopes potential patients would receive is that we as individuals have choices, and those choices depend on our willingness to change. Sara offers counseling sessions in both English and Spanish.
