More about Pucci's Pizza

Tommy Pooch, of Pucci’s Pizza, is a Brooklyn native who lived in New York City and later relocated to Miami Beach, where he is considered a local.

The story of Pucci’s pizza began in NYC in 1988 at the famous nightlife spot, Spo-dee-o-dee. While Spo-dee-o-dee was the hippest nightclub in NYC at the time, the pizza that Tommy provided for guests (served as a nighttime snack) became as famous as the venue itself.

The first Pucci’s Pizza opened on 6th Street in Miami Beach in 1992 and rapidly expanded, with several locations throughout Miami. After a long run and several years of success, Tommy sold each pizza shop. Eight years later, Pucci's is now back by popular demand!

Tommy operates the new venture with his long-time business partner, Alan Roth. Together, Tommy and Alan are proud to welcome their longtime friend, DJ Irie, as one of the business investors. Today, Pucci's Pizza is still a traditional Brooklyn-style pizzeria serving pasta dishes, salads and heros until the wee hours of the morning.

The first location of the new generation of Pucci's Pizza is located at 1535 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL. The second location will soon open across from the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. There are plans to further expand, serving the greater Miami area, in the near future.

Each of Pucci's Pizza pizzerias will feature the same menu, but the atmosphere of each location is dependent upon the size of the space. Interior walls feature framed photographs taken of Tommy with a vast array of celebrity friends, both current and legendary. Each photo tells a story about Tommy Pooch, and his long career in both the entertainment and restaurant industries.

Just as in the past, Pucci's Pizza will use its classic dough and sauce recipes for the pizza, and the most expensive mozzarella money can buy. For the other classic items on the menu, Pucci's has struck a deal with Steve Martorano and will be using Café Martorano's famous marinara sauce on all of the pasta dishes and heros.

Tommy and Alan are bringing back what everyone missed so much, a real slice of Brooklyn. And don't forget Pucci’s original motto from 1992, "A slice and a Coke, you'll never go broke!"
