On March 29, 2004 the R. Niel Hampton Jr. Scholarship was established between the Hampton Family, River Road Baptist Church and the Florida Baptist Foundation. Its sole purpose is to provide financial assistance to young men and women who have surrendered their life to full time Christian ministry.

Out of the tragic loss of their son, the R. Niel Hampton Jr. Scholarship provides an avenue for the Hampton family and others to bless those who have a need and offer a fitting memorial to someone who touched so many lives in just a few short 18 years.
