Radicom, Inc.

Radicom was founded in 1963 by former Motorola staffer Hal Race when he started repairing radios in the basement of his home. The following year, Radicom moved to an office in Libertyville, Illinois. The company moved to to its current McHenry, Illinois headquarters in 1969. Also that year, Phil Bartmann joined the company as a part-time technician. In 1972, Mr. Bartmann became a full-time employee and subsequently bought the company in partnership with the founder's son. Mr. Bartmann eventually assumed full ownership control of Radicom. Today, Mr. Bartmann is Radicom's President and CEO.

The company operated as a General Electric service location and an RCA sales dealership for two-way radios. Shortly thereafter, Radicom was granted a full GE sales and service contract and the RCA relationship was terminated. Radicom continues a vital relationship with GE's radio business successor, Harris (formerly M/A-Com). Radicom also represents superior radio and dispatch product lines, such as Kenwood, EF Johnson, Zetron, and Plant/CML.

The company expanded into the commercial telephone systems business in 1985 and currently represents Toshiba and Comdial/Vertical telephony products. Anticipating the demand for wireless technology, Radicom formed its XENCOM division in 1998 to distribute and service Sprint/Nextel products to consumers, commercial concerns, and public safety agencies.

In 2006, Bob Lueders joined Radicom as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lueders possesses more than 30 years of executive operational experience with technology companies such as Comdisco, Oce-USA, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Today, Radicom is known as a visionary integrator of advanced communication systems and a trusted partner in meeting its customer's ever-changing communications landscape.
