Located in northern Michigan 25 miles from Traverse City and Cadillac, RHF is a unique rural setting for people with disabilities. The AFC home has a capacity of six. All six residents were placed by parents/guardians, not an agency such as CMH or DHS. The Independent Living Apartment building, which opened in 2002, is a low income facility and with a maximum of 8 residents. Most residents are from the Grand Traverse Area. Community volunteers join forces annually for two important fund raisers at the farm, (1) the Mother's Day dinner and (2) Fall Days at the Farm, both to help enrich the lives of people with disabilities (see the website for pictures and additional information).
