Barbara Howerton, Owner and Director of Rainbow's End Child Development Center, first opened her doors in the spring of 1982 along with her late husband, David. The family-owned and operated daycare facility is run by Barbara and her oldest daughter, Kimberley Collins, Office Manager/Assistant Director. Barbara's love for children and passion for teaching God's word is what makes Rainbow's End so special. Activities at Rainbow's End are designed with Christian values in mind. Children have the opportunity to share what they've learned during Ms. Barbara's annual VBS Program. A highlight of the VBS Program is Ms. Betty's homemade cookies...over 1,000 and counting each year!
Rainbow's End welcomes children from ages 18 months through the 4th grade. Children can expect to have a fun time a Rainbow's End. The facility features 2 play yards, an arts and crafts station, toy zones, video game stations, board games, Television and movies, and much more! During the summertime, children are encouraged to particiate in Ms. Barbara's swimming program. Swim activities are held at a private pool, which is cleaned daily and monitored by a lifeguard at all times.
School children's bus routes include service to Dobbs, Hartman, Hays, Nebbie Williams, and Reinhardt Elementary schools, both morning and afternoon. A customized pre-school curriculum will be administered to children ages 2-5 years old. All children need to bring a sack lunch from home as the facility does not provide meals. Rainbow's End provides morning and afternoon snacks. At the end of the day, all children are gathered in the main room for Bible stories and music appreciation time.
