More about Randall School of Ice Skating

Beth Randall was born in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) and began skating at the age of four in her father's barn. She came to Troy, New York in 1961 with her two children David and Linda after being hired for a full time teaching position at the RPI Skating Club by Mr. Jack Garren.
It was through the club that she met and married Jerry Randall. Together they became very active in promoting skating and increasing membership in the what is now the former RPI Figure Skating Club.
Having grown in Barrie, Ontario (Canada), Beth is proud of being a Charter Member of the Barrie Figure Skating Club which is the home of Olympians Brian Orser and Elvis Stoiko. Her teaching accomplishments are many. Her students have earned gold medals in figures, free skating and dance, and competed internationally in pairs.
She is the Director of the Randall School of Ice Skating and a member of the Professional Skater's Association. She was Master Rated in Figures Free Skating and Dance with a sliver rating in pairs.
For many years skaters used her studio rink when there was no ice available in the area after March skating ended. Those of you who know Beth know her love of skating and her endless enthusiasm and creativity on ice runs deep. She is always searching for ways to make her skating program unique. Beth says skaters devoting years of practice in this sport develop the ability to focus in an unusual manner. As a result, she is most proud not only students skating achievements but their ability to learn and grow as people. Her former students include doctors, lawyers, medical research scientists, wall street money managers, designers, writers, etc. The parents of these skaters have thanked Beth profusely for teaching their children to lessons that went far beyond the ice.
