About Carol
Carol graduated from the Alexandar School of Natural Therapeutics in early 2013, where she studied with two of the top Zen Body Therapy practitioners in the country. Shortly after acing the state licensing exam, she joined Carpe Diem in April 2013 and stayed until she decided to open Rapture on her own. She is well versed in Swedish, Triggerpoint and Myofascial Release techniques for injury treatment, but she firmly believes that a session can be relaxing as well as therapeutic. As a therapist she is versatile and sensitive to individual needs, whether it is deep relaxation, treatment for various conditions or somewhere in between. She finds immense joy in being part of a clients' healing and life enrichment process.

Before she discovered her love for bodywork, she wore many different hats. Throughout her college years at George Mason University, where she earned a BS in Information Technology, she also taught group exercise classes at various local fitness centers. Certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE), her repertoire included step aerobics, cardio-kickboxing, indoor cycling and strength training classes at the George Mason University Aquatic and Fitness Center, Gold's Gym and Bally's Total fitness.

Following her graduation from college in December of 2004, she became a software engineer for a small media software company in Northern Virginia but eventually realized she is not meant to sit in front of a computer coding all day. After almost five years, she ended her stint at the software company to do some soul searching, and met her then-future-husband shortly thereafter. They moved to the Pacific NW a year later where they married, and this gave her a chance to to explore a brand new path.

Carol knew she was meant to help people in some way. Still exploring options, she got re-certified to teach group exercise and taught belly dance aerobics at a small dance studio in South Tacoma called The Toybox. Yet she wanted to play a more active and personal role in the health and wellness of individuals on a one-on-one basis, and that led her to study massage therapy. Once she began her studies at Alexandar School, she knew it was a perfect fit.

When she is not in the office, Carol is typically either performing at parties and various local restaurants as a middle eastern dancer ("bellydancer"), playing with her two dogs, or making noise on her guitar and drums. She is an accomplished singer-songwriter with three independently released albums.

Carol firmly believes in the healing power of touch, music and dance.
