More about Reaching Heigher Heights 4 Life

Reaching Higher Heights 4 Life is centered around positive youth and healthy family development. This program has many components such as a parenting program, homework help (Homework Heroes), Girl 2 Matrons, Boys 2 Layman and lastly a summer boot camp program. Each program is unique but they all work closely together to bridge to gap between home and school, parent and child.

Peer 2 Peer Parenting Program: An enrichment class that meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am-12:30pm, where parents are able to come together and talk with other parents about their everyday struggles and how to overcome them. Each parent has the opportunity to facilitate the class which gives them the chance to research facts and resolutions for the struggles they may be dealing with. A hot meal is provided with each class and each participant is entered into a raffle to win prizes for their attendance

Homework Heroes: Meeting every Wednesday night from 5pm-7pm, parents can bring their children to receive help with homework and/or reading skills while they attend Bible Studies or our informational parent meeting where our resource coordinator will aid them in completing applications for any assistance they may need as well as getting applications submitted.

Girls 2 Matrons & Boys 2 Laymen: Held Saturday mornings from 10am-1pm & Sunday mornings from 9am-10:15am, our youth participate in performing arts classes where they learn dance, singing, drumming, and coming soon instrumental music, as well as being taught how to be respectful and successful!! They are able to showcase the talents learned every 3rd Sunday during our morning worship service.

Summer Boot Camp: sponsored by the ADAMH Board this is an 8 week day camp where over 80 youth have the opportunity to participate in a age appropriate class very similar to a school setting, with a focus on math an reading. All participants will have access to the computer lab and library and one on one time with a youth leader to help build reading skills. In the past participants have built an community garden, teaching them the basics of how to plant, harvest and care for the plants. We plan to continue this tradition, with the hope of providing a garden that the community can use.
