More about Relay For Life of Benicia and Vallejo, CA

Come join Vallejo and Benicia Fight Back against Cancer at our very own Relay For Life. At our Relay, teams of people camp out at St. Patrick / St. Vincents' High School and take turns walking or running around the track. While we are there, there is live entertainment, lots of track activities, booths with lots of fun games, booths with raffle prizes, booths with information, and just lots of friends - some you may know, and some you'll meet!

Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who are now or have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. We celebrate our survivors and our caretakers and learn new things.

At our Relay, teams of people camp out at St. Patrick / St. Vincents High School and take turns walking around the track. Relay is not a race or a marathon, and you don't have to be on a team to be a part of Relay - but we think once you come, you'll want to be on one :)

Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are events up to 24 hours in length. Relayers do not have to walk all night, but each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. There are activities the entire time, so anytime you come, there will be something to see or do. For more details, or information, go to our website (see below) or send us a private message on Facebook.

Company overview:
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay For Life events, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relay For Life events are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Relay For Life began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma,Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then Relay For Life has grown from one man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with communities in 20 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Thanks to Relay participants, the American Cancer Society continues to save lives.

Mission:
We save lives and create more birthdays by helping you stay well, helping you get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. http://www.cancer.org 800.227.2345
