Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs

Founded in 1981, The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs has long provided short-term, emergency assistance to thousands of individuals, families, and the elderly. It was originally founded by members of local churches who were aware of the unmet needs of their community and has since grown to encompass the efforts of businesses, churches, other organizations, and the contributions of private individuals to help prevent and alleviate the effects of poverty.

We Coordinate donations of time, talent, money, food, and other resources in order to meet the urgent needs of the people living in Frederick County. We meet more than 400 clients every month who come into our Service Center seeking assistance. Thousands of families are fed through our 8 affiliated food banks. And even more people are provided with information and referrals to our partners around Frederick County.
