More about ReNew

I will provide a variety of services for all ages begining in pregnancy and continuing through all of life. I will write a brief description of them and my training.

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST):
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction as well as support for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I originally took my training begining in 2006 to work on my daughter who has complex special needs. In 2006 I took 80 hours of training through Dynamic Body Balancing with an emphasis in pregnancy. In 2007 I took 64 hours of training through the Milne Institute Inc with an emphasis in pediactrics. Since 2007 I have gone on to work one on one with two different people who have practiced CST for decades and received their training from John Upledger directly.

My specialty is working with pregnant women, babies, and chronic conditions but I have worked with every age and gender.

Wellness Education and Products:

I have been blessed in my life to have been raised utilizing and learning about complimentary ways to support the body and its systems. I have gone on to expand my knowledge as an adult to tend to the needs of my family.

My knowledge is self taught through books, teachers, and classes about herbs, vitamins, homeopathics, and detoxing.

I also have a background in basic muscle testing and taken the first class in Health Kinesiology on my way to certification in that modality

About a year and a half ago I started making salve. For our family it has become our go to for any skin conditions from dry skin and cuts to more difficult skin things like eczema. I have recently started making other salves for period pain and bee stings, bites, and slivers.

Doula:
A doula is someone who supports a family during pregnancy, birth, and newborn time. She is educated in normal and out of the ordinary things related to pregnancy and birth. The doula is able to help the family navigate their wants, desires, and needs through education and support. A doula is on call for the birth and attends the labor and birth with the family.

Since my first birth 26 years ago I have been passionate about helping educate families. I read books on pregnancy and brith just for fun.

I attended my first birth for a dear friend of mine 13 years ago and I was hooked. I am hoping to really be able to really branch out in this area as my family continues to grow so being on call will be easier to manage.

I took an ALACE labor assistant/birth doula training in 2007.

Lactation Support:
I grew up in a home with a mother who was a LaLeche League Leader. I have personal experiences for myself or helping others in many unique situations.

I took the LaLeche League Breastfeeding Peer Counselor training in 2001. In 2002 I took the LaLeche League Peer Counselor Administrator training in order to be able to teach the peer counselor trainings. In 2012 I became a LaLeche League Leader. I am currently retired from being a leader due to medical issues I had after becoming a leader. In 2015 I took a class with an emphasis in tounge and lip tie restrictions
