Rescue Ranch Yreka

Rescue Ranch is a no-kill shelter, providing quality care for dogs while working to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem. Annually, Rescue Ranch serves the community by sheltering 150-200 dogs transferred from local facilities that are overcrowded and facing euthanasia in those facilities. We spay and neuter all dogs in our shelter and we also assist other shelters outside of our county by taking in dogs through our Rescue Ranch Waggin Train.

Rescue Ranch provides humane education for people of all ages and provides volunteer opportunities and programs to assist many in our community to meet their desire to help save lives of displaced dogs. We have an active foster program and participate in community events throughout Siskiyou County. We continually grow by adopting new ideas to sustainably grow our organization to better serve dogs and their families.

Senior Pets: We know that senior animals (those seven years of age and older) are among the first to be euthanized in many shelters that have an abundant supply of young energetic pets. We believe every animal — no matter their age — deserves a second chance. By addressing the treatable medical needs of all the dogs in our care we remove one of the biggest barriers to adoption and increase the number of animals who find new homes.
