More about Resurrection Lutheran Church

Join us every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. for a traditional Lutheran worship service.

Our Sunday school programs run from 10 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. mid-September through May.

Our Contemporary Worship Service starts at 11 a.m. Join in singing with our Praise Band as they play your favorite contemporary Christian songs.

Welcome Area
As you enter the building into the main lobby (what we call the narthex), on your right side is our Welcome Center Desk. There you’ll find a monthly calendar of events, a site map of our Church, and other introductory information about Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Holy Communion
Holy Communion is a meal that unites us as one in the Body of Christ. Those who have been baptized and believe that the real body and blood of Jesus are present in, with and under the forms of bread and wine for the forgiveness of our sins and the feeding of our faith are welcome to participate in this sacrament. Grape juice is also offered; the white grape juice is in the center of the tray. Those not receiving Holy Communion are invited to come forward for a blessing or remain seated in prayer and meditation. Children are especially encouraged to come forward. Gluten-free communion wafers are available upon request.

Prayer Candles
Prayer Candles are available at the back of the church. These may be lit before or after service or after you receive communion as a symbol of petitions of need or thanksgiving being lifted to God.

Children
Children of all ages are welcome in our church. There are two options available for children and parents. Coloring books and other quiet toys are in the back by the media area to either play with there or to take back to your seat. Parents are also welcome to relax in the narthex (entrance area of the church) with their children as the speakers allow families to still participate in the service.

Hymns
Lyrics to hymns can be found on the screens above the altar or with music in the red books in the pews. The numbers accompanying the hymn title refer to the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) book. Hymns are found in the back section of the ELW.

The Altar and the Liturgical Seasons
The Altar is adorned in different colors throughout the year. That’s because there are different liturgical seasons and colors that highlight the importance of that time of year (e.g. Easter, Christmas, Lent, Advent, etc.).

What We Believe
Lutherans believe in the Triune God. God created and loves all of the creation — the earth and the seas and all of the world’s inhabitants.

We believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life, and we trust that God's Spirit is active in the world.

We are part of God’s unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere. When we study the Bible or hear God’s word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God’s own saving story.

The convictions shared by Christians from many different traditions are expressed in statements of belief called creeds.

These ecumenical creeds that Lutherans affirm and use in worship confess the faith of the church through the ages and around the world.

The Confession of Faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is part of our founding constitution. The ELCA accepts the following creeds as true declarations of the faith of this church:
