Rhome, Texas

Rhome is a city in Wise County, Texas, United States. The population was 1522 at the 2010 census.Rhome has a large 12-plaque war exhibit located at Veterans Memorial Park, in a residential area east of the downtown.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 551 people, 222 households, and 162 families residing in the city. The population density was 310.6 people per square mile (120.2/km²). There were 248 housing units at an average density of 139.8 per square mile (54.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 90.74% White, 0.73% African American, 1.09% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 0.18% Pacific Islander, 5.99% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.71% of the population.There were 222 households out of which 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.0% were married couples living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 23.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.91.
