More about Rhythm Warriors Music Project

Rhythm Warriors Project provides musical instruction for Veterans and Public Service personnel who want to play or hone their skills on a musical instrument and/or vocally. The purpose of the organization is to provide an avenue for recognition and release of emotions from trauma situations they may have experienced by using music as a release.

Local musicians, some veterans themselves, will be assisting in helping you learn to play or hone your instrument or vocal skills. Releasing your emotions, frustrations, fears, etc through music has been a common practice for those of us who are there to assist you. Our hope is you, too, will find your musical path to do this, as well.

We meet at the VFW Post 2278 once a week on Monday at 5:30 pm. Bring your instruments. If you don't have one you want to learn to play we will try to provide one for you. All genres of music will be explored.

Rhythm Warriors Music Project is the brainchild of David Elmore and Sherree Hughes. David is a veteran who has survived much turmoil and physical injury because of his choice to serve our country. He, by accident, became involved in a music program that he accredits to helping him "come out of isolation." Sherree comes from a music background and is the director of the Blues in the Schools program for the Spa City Blues Society. She is, also, a medical instructor at National Park College.

Both David and Sherree hold degrees in counseling and social work.
However, Rhythm Warriors is not a structured counseling service. Should you need professional assistance we will be able to provide resources for those professional services.

We look forward to having you join us. Rhythm Warriors Rock!!
