Rialto High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps was founded in 1993. Chief Petty Officer Stephen M. McLaughlin (USN) Retired, was one of the original instructors and has been the steady arm that nurtures and develops successful graduates for the past nineteen years. By using his "gift" of being able to access a student the moment he or she walks in to the classroom and provide a learning environment that is both suitable and enjoyable for the cadet.
In 2003, Commander Sandy A. Jones became the senior naval science instructor. For the past eight years Commander has been an inspirational father figure for cadets and students at Rialto High School and throughout the city of Rialto. Commander uses his charm, charisma and ability to instill the highest degree of motivation to inspire cadets to be all they can be.
