Ridenour Ranch

Ridenour Ranch is located about 90 minutes north of Charlotte NC, in the small town of Thurmond. Owned by Michael and Susie Ridenour, the 98-acre property is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a short 10-mile drive to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

Surrounded by vineyards, hiking trails, mountain biking, and kayaking we decided it to be the perfect location to create our Agritourism ranch.

Having purchased the property in December of 2014, the first task at hand was to rebuild the small barn and home that was on the property. We spent eight months of hard work with help from some local craftsman to turn the 1880 log home into a livable structure once again.

During that time, we also started restoring and upgrading the pastures and fencing, to allow for the placement of the beef cattle, alpacas, goats, and sheep. With this mix of livestock, we will have diverse offerings to bring to market. Our goal is to provide premium grass fed beef, lamb, and goat meats. We also plan to produce alpaca and wool fibers, goat milk, cheese and soaps. We are working on becoming a Certified Humane Farm. We treat all of our animals with respect, love, and care. We are honored with the gift of their life and take the responsibility seriously.

The ranch will continue to grow during the 2016 season with the addition of two pole barns, additional fencing upgrades, livestock shelters and a pond.
