Welcome to River Church Roanoke! We are a growing multiracial congregation of folks just like you, both hungering and thirsting for an authentic moving of God’s Spirit upon the earth today. Jesus is coming back soon and we believe He is coming back for a bride likened unto Himself in every way.

We are a firmly established church with a lot to offer and we are looking for others who have that “need” to be a part of something fresh…and refreshing. Our Founding Pastors

David and Jill Tuell
David, and his wife Jill are the founding pastors of River Church Roanoke.
David and Jill are both from Southwest Virginia and were saved at an early age. They dated in high school and a few years after graduation, they married and headed off to Bible College. David attended Columbia Bible College and then later, Southwestern University’s Master’s program. They have pastored three former churches and have two grown daughters, Chassidy and Lauren.

Our founding pastors have a passion to lead people to know Jesus, mature them in Him, and to help them find their purpose and destiny in the Kingdom of God. To David and Jill, Christianity should not be a religion, but rather an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ. Church should not be a religious institution, but rather a living breathing spiritual entity that is the body of Christ in the world today.

Statement of Faith
Short and simple, we actually believe the Bible is THE Word of God. We believe it is relevant to our day and age and refuse to compromise the truths and doctrines of historic Christianity.

Value Statements
We value the very real presence of God in our midst as we praise and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
We value the ministry of Jesus continuing through believers upon the earth by the Holy Spirit’s power until His return.
We value people of every age, race, color, nationality, and socioeconomic group for all are in need of Jesus and are equals at the foot of the cross.
We value the Church of Jesus Christ both local and global as she proclaims historical biblical truth within the fresh wineskins of relevant methodology for today’s generation.
We value the destiny and purposes of God for His people and believe equipping them and releasing them into loving service is the pathway to a fulfilled life.
We value the spiritual Kingdom of God in the world today, it’s principles, precepts, and the promise that if we seek first kingdom, all things will be added to us.
We value a new generation of believers who seek authenticity in spiritual matters and whom are the standard bearers of a great last days outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
