More about River Raisin Territorial Park

River Raisin Territorial Park is home to a collection of authentic buildings from Monroe County organized into a historical park along our namesake River Raisin. River Raisin Territorial Park is great place to explore history and nature. It is a popular fishing destination and a great place to stop with your canoe or kayak. The site is managed by the County of Monroe's Museum and Parks and Recreation Departments.

Our oldest building, the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post dates from 1789. The Navarre-Morris Kitchen is from 1810. The site is joined by a replica French-Canadian style barn, circa 1790. The 1864 Papermill School, which is adjacent to the site, serves as a contact station, restroom, and country store museum.
