Rockland Montessori Academy was originally Rockland Nursery School. First located on Clifton Street, Malden, the school was purchased in 1991 by Carol Wishoski. Mrs Wishoski transitioned the school to a Montessori curriculum in 2002, renaming the school as Rockland Montessori School. In March 2011, the school moved to the newly renewed Victorian mansion at 122 Maple Street, becoming Rockland Montessori Academy. At this time, Mrs Wishoski added an infant/toddler program. In January 2013, Mrs Wishoski moved the infant/toddler program to the newly renovated home at 44 Dexter Street, across the intersection from the Academy, and renamed the program Rockland Montessori Nursery School. The new program includes a transitional Montessori preschool which compliments the preschool and kindergarten Montessori curriculum at the Academy.
