Rocky Hock Baptist Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at Rocky Hock Baptist Church seeks to worship God in sincerity and in truth with excellence. We worship a God of wonderful variety; therefore, many musical styles are present in our worship service from time to time. Rather than focusing our attention on a single style of music, we focus our attention on the Creator of all music. We seek to use relevant music in a blended format for our worship services. There are several opportunities for you to be involved in. Check out each part of the music ministry at Rocky Hock.

The Sanctuary Choir at Rocky Hock is an exciting and uplifting part of worship each week leading in congregational songs and special music. The sanctuary choir sings in the morning worship services on Sunday. In addition, the choir presents several programs throughout the year for our church family and community designed to exalt the name of Jesus and to share the love of God. Special programs include Christmas Cantata, Easter Cantata, July 4th Program, as well as Singspirations, Revivals, and special conferences. All Church members from the age of eighteen to Senior Adults are invited to join. No auditions are required, but a willingness and desire to improve through learning opportunities and a commitment to regular rehearsal is vital. Rehearsals are each Wednesday night 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. Our rehearsals are always fun and inspiring. The Angel Chorus at Rocky Hock is our preschool choir ages 3-5 years old. In the choir the kids learn and apply Biblical truths through music. They present special music programs for Christmas and a spring musical. Rehearsals are during KID Groups on Sunday nights at 5:45 pm. If your child is interested please contact Pastor Tyler.

The Livewires choir at Rocky Hock is our grade school choir for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. In this choir kids learn and apply Biblical truths and scripture through music. They present special music programs for Christmas and spring. They also go into the community to share the gospel by singing at local nursing homes and to our shut-ins. Rehearsals are during KID Groups on Sunday nights at 5:45 pm. If your child is interested please contact Pastor Tyler.

Nicknamed "Veterans of Spiritual Warfare", our Senior Adult Choir is made up of Christ-loving seniors ages 55 and up who love lifting up their voices for the Lord. Our Senior Choir has led in worship, revivals, and has presented musical programs on Sunday evenings. The Senior Choir also ministers through music to the local assisted living and nursing homes as well as our local shut-ins. If you, like us, believe that you can never retire from God's ministry and love to sing, come join our choir. Senior Adult Choir rehearses every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Choir Room. The handbell choir at Rocky Hock is a group that consists of people of all musical abilities. The current handbells we use are a 3 octave set. You do not have to read music to be a part of this group. The age range for the handbell choir is youth through adult. If you would like join we practice on Sunday nights at 5:00 pm. The praise band at Rocky Hock plays on Sunday mornings a couple of times a month. This group consists of piano, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and vocals. Rehearsals for this group are on Wednesday nights after sanctuary choir practice, and Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. This group plays a vital role in our worship service as they provide the musical accompaniment for congregational worship.
