Rome Investigators of the Paranormal [R.I.P] is a Rome-based paranormal investigation group that provides service all of Central New York.

RIP was founded in January of 2002 after a Christmas dinner discussion, members Pete and David spawned the idea and the group was formed. Since then RIP has expanded to add some long time friends and new members one day to be long time friends as well. Each member brings both a vast wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm but a truly unparalleled personality. All of us have an interest in the paranormal and vary in specialties and beliefs, a diversity that only helps us to provide a better service.We consider each location that we investigate to be neutral and we allow the data we gather to dictate our decision on whether we consider said location to be active. We always have and always will be mindful of property, laws and the sanctity of ones personal beliefs. We operate within boundaries set by property owners and we do not trespass, especially in cemeteries and burial grounds, as these infractions both on the client and law should not be tolerated.

Our first goal is always to help those who are experiencing the unexplained and we do everything within our power to do so. We have a series of contacts to further assist if the issue is outside our range of capabilities. Our aim is also to document and analyze everything during our investigations for use in case studies to one day help further the field of paranormal science. Following an investigation, it can take up to two weeks to review all of the data we collect, we will provide a packet of any evidence, to support any claims, that we have captured and we will provide potential explanations or 'debunks' for all other claims. With permission that may be given when signing our informed consent waiver the confidential and anonymous results may be posted online and used in public presentation, please note that the option for us to with hold all this data is available as well.
