Roosevelt Plaza Park

Roosevelt Plaza Park (RPP) is a central open space in Camden, NJ located at the crossroads of three essential business corridors in downtown Camden and at the doorstep of City Hall. The historic 75,000 sq. ft. park reopened in June 2012 after the demolition of a mixed-use building erected in 1955 to replace the original plaza built during The New Deal in 19298. Owned by the City of Camden, the planning and redesign of the park was overseen by the Camden Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The park is currently maintained by the Camden Special Services District.

The new tables, chairs, shade, landscaping, and public art that you are enjoying today is part of a pop-up park project that will last throughout December. The temporary park seeks to enliven the open space and to encourage residents, employees, students and visitors to spend time outside in Camden. Park users are also encouraged to complete a survey about their park experience. The results of the survey will guide future park improvements.
