Roots Custom Woodworking LLC

My name is Sam Parkinson. My wife, Laura, and I started RCW after much thought, prayer, and encouragement from our friends and family. As newlyweds, we discovered our passion for woodworking and design while attempting to make our tiny, 450 sq. ft. apartment feel like home. We never thought that this fun hobby we shared would become a business that we could share with others!

A little about us: Laura and I met at Anderson University, in Anderson, SC and discovered that we shared many of the same values and passions. We fell in love and were married a year after we started dating. The desire for our marriage and our life as a whole is to be "rooted" in God's Word and love (Ps. 1, Eph. 3:14-19 ), which is where the name for our business came from. We want nothing more than for our business to reflect this idea. RCW is not just about making furniture or pieces for the home; it is about loving God and loving people.

Another "why" behind RCW, although not as important, is to achieve financial freedom by paying off our student loans.

In the end, we truly want to build great quality pieces that our customers will be able to cherish forever and share with their loved ones; but, more than that, we want to help and love our community by running a Christ-centered business.
