The Topisaw Creek is clear and cool--spend time on the sand or rock bars, soaking up the sun or hunting for rocks and fossils (petrified wood and arrowheads have been found here). Many folks also enjoy a leisurely float down the creek in inner tubes ("tubing"). A local tubing company will provide all you need for a day on the creek.
Just a short walk through the woods brings you to Camp Topisaw, our home and workplace, where we handcraft traditional soaps, skincare products and natural wax candles. We also raise rare-breed Pineywoods Cows and Gulf Coast Native Sheep, chickens, donkeys and a flock of guinea hens.
Topisaw Hideaway is centrally located for your stay in the Deep South--1.5 hours from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Jackson and 1 hour from Natchez and Hattiesburg. We are 15 minutes from McComb MS where you'll find several galleries, excellent dining (don't miss The Caboose with their fabulous steaks, double-cut pork chop and seafood), an interesting train museum and Percy Quin State Park, home of 4-star rated Quail Hollow Golf Course and a large lake for fishing and boating.
Topisaw Hideaway boasts luxury bedding, classically-styled furniture, a whole-house stereo system, antique flooring from New Orleans and handcrafted custom soaps and lotions. A daybed with trundle are available for extra sleeping.
Bedroom #1 has a king size 4 poster bed, a recliner for relaxing, a large walk-in closet and its own marble-floored bathroom with double vanities.
Bedroom #2 has a queen size sleigh bed, a wingback chair for reading, a lovely view of the wooded front yard and its own bath.
