Columbia Rotary Club is a service club part of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides opportunities for service not only locally in Adair County, but throughout the world in cooperation with more than 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 3,400 clubs representing 200 countries.

Rotary encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. The Columbia club is a diverse group which is active in the community both in club sponsored service and in their individual service preferences. It is one of the oldest clubs in the area, serving the community since 1935.

Columbia Rotary is involved in a number of fundraising events in support of both local and international service projects. Recurring fund-raising events include the annual Rotary Radio Auction, the Christmas in Columbia breakfast.

SERVICE TO COMMUNITY...
Funds raised support a number of service projects including stocking of local food banks.
The club;
• Monitors local waterways as part of Kentucky's Green River Watershed Watch program.
• Sponsors events in support of the local library.
• Conducts an environmental awareness poster contest at the grade schools.
• Donates directly to local fundraisers such as Relay for Life, Salvation Army Angel Tree.
• Commits to giving $ 5000 annually to Adair County High School students for scholarships to Lindsey Wilson College. The scholarships are made possible by the local businesses and individuals who contribute to Rotary's annual radio auction.
