Here at Rough Ridge Farms we take pride in placing our horses with the right rider, even though all horses and riders aren’t the same, we do our best to match you with the best horse to suit your needs. Family is the main stay here at the farm. We enjoy our horses as a family and want the same you and your family. Mark and Jill Davis were married in October of 1995 and have two wonderful children Colten(12) and Makenzie(7). Almost anytime you come by you will be greeted by the whole family at the main house (The Barn). Often we have several others on site to help with our horses and your needs.
Since we started in 1992, training and selling well minded, broke horses has always been our primary focus. We look for horses that are rider friendly and can be trained in all aspects of riding, in doing this we try to train these mounts into versatile riding horses. From the trail to the arena or riding down the highway, we try to expose them to it all. Over the past 20 years, we have sold several horses to people all over the US and Canada. During a regular year we sell on average from 125 to 150 horses. Some we train form the ground up, others come to us already started and we perfect their skills. We do our best to train the horse for what best fits our customers’ needs. In 2012 we sold horses to Taiwan for trail riding and China for something similar to what we have at Kentucky’s Horse Park. Both of these countries wanted horses of good nature and looks; we were able to provide them all.
