Ruddles Mill Perennials and Native Plants

Our nursery began in 2006, and our hobby gardening soon became a full-time obsession.

Philip has always enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and landscaping. We currently have over 40 varieties Azalea and Rhododendron growing in our gardens, and have 30 species of Magnolia. We also grow 14 species of native ferns. (Best Bloom is around Derby Day!!)

My mother was an avid wild flower grower and had an extensive wild garden at our home on Pike Street. When mother could no longer garden, Philip and I moved many of mother’s specimens to our Woods Bed, at our farm. From that time to now, we have expanded into two greenhouses and a 20’X50’ Hoop House for over-wintering plants.

Technically we are only open from April to June, however many of our customers call and come out to pick up mulch or specific plants year-round, knowing that I am almost always there taking care of the plants, or mowing!!!
