What is Systema?

Systema, otherwise known as "The System," is an ancient martial art of Russian warrior tradition that dates back to the 10th century. Systema had been reserved exclusively for the Spetsnaz during the 20th century but at the time of the fall of soviet Russia in 1993, the masters of Systema warrior tradition were free to share this wonderful system with others all around the world.

The foundation of Systema is breathing and the key principle is non-destruction. Systema does not depend on rigid forms, repetitive techniques or ranks of hierarchy. A plethora of opportunities are available, including everything from hand-to-hand and weapons training to massage and stress relief for the nervous system. There is certainly something fulfilling for everyone.
