Ryan earned his degree in Fine Furniture and Cabinet Making from the prestigious North Bennet Street School. Prior to entering the intensive program Ryan completed a workshop seminar at North Bennet. Ryan holds a degree in Business Administration from Quincy College.
While at the North Bennet Street School, Ryan volunteered to teach woodworking skills to middle school children as part of a community outreach with the Eliot School of Boston. Upon his graduation, North Bennet invited Ryan back to assistant teach the Fundamentals of Fine Woodworking. After assistant teaching two sessions and less than a year after graduating Ryan began teaching the Fundamental of Fine Woodworking and a variety of other workshop classes on his own.
Ryan was privileged to be granted intimate access to the furniture exhibit in the Art of the Americas Wing at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He found inspiration in the opportunity to measure, observe and study pieces created by this nation’s finest craftsmen.
Ryan approaches each piece with diligence and inspiration. The intricacies and fine details found within all of his work demonstrate his mastery of the craft.
