More about Sadie's Waffles

Sadie’s Gourmet Waffles Story......
Our Waffle delicacy was first introduced to us by Sadie Dupont, a delightful, energetic woman who had the ability to produce extraordinary culinary creations with the highest quality ingredients and an extensive knowledge of the original Liege, Belgium region specialties.
Our Liege Waffles are a light & butter crusted breakfast sensation and are rapidly becoming a culinary sensation enjoyed anytime, thanks to Mrs. Dupont.
Belgian families serve their waffles topped with fresh whipped cream, powdered sugar or sliced strawberries and tout their creation as a 'light, crispy, fluffy' alternative to the American waffle.
According to Sadie, Liege Waffles were originally called Brussels waffles — named for the Belgian capital, where they became a staple. But soon Sadie realized people wanted to know their exact origin so she changed the name to Liege to show their native beginnings.
What makes the waffles so good? Sadie cites special cast-iron makers that heat up to 500 degrees. As soon as the batter touches the grill, it forms a crispy, caramelized shell on the outside and soft sweet dough on the inside while melting the special pearl sugar encrusted in the dough. Normally, most people will want to try a Liege Waffle in its traditional form first, with only powered sugar. This allows the experience of the sweet, buttery flavor to treat your taste buds to an incredible taste. Waffle lovers will then learn all the different ways to enjoy the “Liege Waffle”.
Waffles in the United States date back to the Pilgrims, who were familiar with them from time spent in the Netherlands, which has a similar waffle culture. During the latter part of the 18th century, 'waffle parties' were all the rage.
The recipe requires fresh, carefully prepped ingredients: pure vanilla, fresh yeast or self-rising flour, melted but cooled sweet butter, and eggs at room temperature, with egg whites added at the end.
The exact recipe is a secret.
