Saint's Retreat

Saint's Retreat is an historic old 3000 square foot home originally constructed on the model on a Bavarian hunting lodge and built on the site of the old Sleepy Hollow Farm just minutes north of downtown Ocean Springs. The house and rustic farm outbuildings from a bygone era are situated on twenty-five acres fronting on Old Fort Bayou. There are extensive nature trails leading past the old milking barn and the stables through the forest to the very edge of the bayou. The large (65'x17') great hall with its old yellow pine floors and Oriental carpets, twenty-nine foot celiling with exposed beams, and cypress paneling,which is adorned with original works of art and tapestries, is a dramatic and beautiful setting for receptions, weddings, parties, reunions, retreats, political rallies, fund raisers, and other special events. The great hall features an old grand piano. There are two magnificent functioning fireplaces, one in the great hall, as well as two kitchens, three bathrooms, and three spacious rooms for adequate seating off of both sides of the main hall. The dragon fountain with its colorful fish is always fascinating to our guests. The Vancleave Live Oak Choctaw have declared Saint's Retreat tp be holy ground, as it was here that in Aucust of 2013 their tribe was reborn. They also have planted a sacred live oak tree to commemorate the founding of the Tribe on its first anniversary in August of 2014.
